Holistic Wellbeing Support — Working Alongside the Care You Already Receive

Holistik Hub offers professional, non-medical holistic therapy for adults living with cancer, chronic illness, disability, anxiety, fibromyalgia and trauma. We work in partnership with mainstream health services — not instead of them — to support your emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing at every stage of your journey.

A Different Kind of Support

At Holistik Hub we understand that when you are facing a serious health challenge, conventional medical treatment is essential — but it rarely addresses everything you are going through. The fear, the exhaustion, the loss of identity, the anxiety about the future. These are real and they deserve real attention.

Our approach is holistic and entirely non-medical. We work alongside your GP, consultant, oncologist or care team — never replacing their expertise, always complementing it. Many of our clients come to us on recommendation from NHS practitioners who recognise that emotional and therapeutic support produces better outcomes when integrated alongside clinical care.

We are not a crisis service and we are not a medical provider. We are a trusted space where adults can come to feel genuinely seen, supported and cared for — whatever they are living with.

Meet Nikki — Your Lead Holistic Practitioner

Nikki is an experienced holistic therapist working in clinical and community settings in South Yorkshire. With five years as a practitioner at Weston Park Cancer Charity — one of the UK's leading cancer support centres — and further experience at Rotherham Cancer Charity, she has supported hundreds of adults through some of the most difficult experiences a person can face.

Nikki's expertise lies in working with people whose emotional and physical wellbeing has been profoundly affected by illness, disability or life-changing diagnosis. She is currently in discussion with Chesterfield Royal Hospital to extend her NHS-based practice, and works in close partnership with mainstream medical teams.

Her approach is warm, deeply personal and entirely led by each individual's needs. No two sessions are the same because no two people are the same.

Our Therapies

Every therapy Nikki offers works on the same fundamental principle: regulating your nervous system. When we face serious illness, chronic pain, trauma or anxiety, our nervous system becomes stuck in a state of high alert. Each therapy below gently guides your nervous system out of that state of stress and into one of safety, calm and restoration.

Reiki

What is it?

Reiki is a gentle energy-based therapy delivered through light touch or by holding the hands slightly above the body. It is deeply relaxing and requires nothing from you except the willingness to rest.

How does it work?

Reiki activates the parasympathetic nervous system — the part responsible for rest, recovery and healing. Many clients describe a profound sense of calm during and after a session, often experiencing their first truly deep relaxation in weeks or months. For those undergoing cancer treatment, managing chronic pain or living with anxiety, this shift from stress to stillness can be genuinely transformative.

EFT — Emotional Freedom Technique

What is it?

EFT, often called tapping, involves gently tapping on specific points on the face and body while focusing on a particular feeling, memory or physical sensation. It is simple to learn and can be used independently between sessions.

How does it work?

EFT directly targets the amygdala — the part of the brain responsible for triggering the stress response. By tapping on meridian points while processing a difficult emotion or experience, the technique sends a calming signal to the nervous system, reducing the emotional charge attached to distressing thoughts or memories. Research has shown EFT to be effective in reducing cortisol levels.

Stone Therapy

What is it?

Stone therapy uses smooth, heated basalt stones placed on or moved across the body. The warmth penetrates deeply into muscle tissue, creating a sensation of profound heaviness and relaxation.S

How does it work?

Heat is one of the most powerful natural regulators of the nervous system. The warmth from the stones triggers an immediate parasympathetic response — slowing the heart rate, relaxing muscle tension and signalling to the body that it is safe to let go. For clients living with fibromyalgia, chronic pain or the physical tension that accompanies long-term illness, stone therapy can provide relief that goes beyond the physical.

Trauma-Informed Talk Therapy

What is it?

This is a compassionate, conversational form of support that recognises how trauma — whether from illness, loss, difficult life experiences or medical procedures — lives in the body as well as the mind. Sessions are led entirely by you and move at your pace.

How does it work?

Trauma keeps the nervous system locked in a state of hypervigilance — always scanning for danger, unable to fully relax. Trauma-informed talk therapy creates a safe, non-judgmental space where difficult experiences can be gently explored and processed. Unlike some talking therapies, this approach never pushes or forces — it follows the nervous system's own readiness.

Meditation

What is it?

Guided meditation involves being gently led through a structured practice of breath awareness, body scanning or visualisation. No experience is necessary and there is no right or wrong way to meditate.

How does it work?

Meditation is one of the most well-researched tools for nervous system regulation available. Even short periods of guided meditation have been shown to reduce cortisol, lower blood pressure and shift brain activity toward the calmer prefrontal cortex. Nikki's guided sessions are tailored to each client's needs and can be adapted for those with limited mobility or energy.

Swedish Massage

What is it?

Swedish massage uses flowing, rhythmic strokes across the body to ease muscle tension, improve circulation and induce deep relaxation. It is suitable for most adults regardless of age or health status.

How does it work?

Touch is one of the most direct routes to nervous system regulation. Swedish massage stimulates the release of oxytocin and serotonin — the body's natural calming and mood-regulating chemicals — while simultaneously reducing cortisol and adrenaline. Many clients describe this as deeply restorative in ways that go beyond the physical relief.
